Wholly committed to being involved in the lives of 4 beautiful children, she took on roles in Girl Scouts, helped in the schools and community, directed children's day camps and had a part-time childcare business. When two of her children had health issues, Liza soon remembered the value of organic real food. In many regions around the world, food is also considered medicine. It wasn’t that hard for Liza to remember recipes from childhood, having grown up in an international household herself where the meal was the highlight of the day. Cooking and “putting up” locally grown produce and meat, which was always a passion, became a necessary and integral part of family life. Soon Liza found herself cooking for local families as well as large groups. By the time the children were growing out of the house, it was clear that Liza's new direction in life would center on unique and delicious cuisine. Liza was referred to Healthy World Café by a friend. She began as a volunteer and now, as Café Manager, is committed to sharing her love of the York community as well as her zest for scrumptious local fare.
